Gold Coast 2

We went to gc again. This time to swim... and the water is freaking cold...... *bbbbrrrr lol

we had great fun though. :)

fantastic day to just slack ard the beach. Oh and we saw someone nude tanning opposite us. heh its quite a common sight to see ppl take of their bikini and tan facing down... but this gal.. or rather auntie... lol was tanning facing up! IN a half sitting position facing the whole world. heh

well one thing we noticed though. Girls here arent that conscious of their body. You can be huge but still wear bikinis. You dun see that in singapore :)

Ekka

its a long overdue post :) Ekka is a holiday in australia where ppl visit this exhibition centre with all the country animals, rides, food and shows. And their shows are just so damn good. Its a must to visit the link http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~chenghen/blog/aus/ekka

Really must go ah lol. There are bike stunts, car stunts, human canyon ball and also fireworks. And yea for the fireworks right... its hilarious. Its sponsored by this company called dairy farm milk... and they have this song that goes... blah blah committed to bring fresh farm milk to ya home... blah blah.. and then theres this cow mascot on a pickup waving to everyone haha. cute right lol.

anyway had a great day at ekka. its really really good esp the shows. Go take a look at the videos on the link. cool stuffs man heh

HK Bash

Went for a HK bash sometime last week or maybe its last last week. Heh cant really remember liao.

The music was kinda techno... so yeah its freaking amusing. They even had those *beep* *beep* *beep* kind of music... you know those whistle blowing sounds and then the bengs will go yo ah yo ah yo.... hahahha those mark lee's era kind of muisc. dunno if you guys know what i am talking about but yea if you dunno ask me i will sing for ya lol.

but the music got better in the end lah so its still quite ok. Anyway as usual, the drinks were still quite cheap. Esp the shots. spent quite a bit there also.

Den we decided to take a cab home instead of walking back from the city cos hannah was abit drunk ... Waited for ages for the cab to come. Yun song even paid 2 bucks to book a cab through those machines at the cab stand. But what the heck.. no cab came man... so guys... next time never watse ya money on that.

Went home den th enext day was EKKA. its a hol! and we went down to the festival. Was damn cool lah the festival. Will update more on that soon. :)

VSU ( Voluntary Student Union)

Student Rally
Went to a student rally at King George Square with Hannah today. Its quite an eye opener for us cos we don't and we won't see any of such things in Singapore. :)

The rally is basically about the Australian Government who wants to implement this voluntary student union which means students no longer pays administrative fees for the student union to run. This also means that all funds to the student union will be stopped.

So whats the problem? No more fees isn't that good? heh. But apparently, it means lots of jobs will be lost since student unions are not run by volunteers now... its run by professionals or at least people who are paid.

The interesting proposition put forward by Howard government: "Students are grown-ups and are perfectly capable of choosing what they wish to spend their money on." On this, vice chancellor of Swinburne University of Technology Ian young says "This is a rather condescending comment, I am afraid, but when you have a group of 18 to 22 year olds, the reality is is their focus is very short term." Hmmm interesting.... so which side should the students stand on? Be an immature adult ? or be a voiceless student with no sport facilities? (or at least thats what they are claiming - Without student unions, students have no place to voice their opinions and be heard)

My opinion on this issue? Urhmmm nothing. Heh. Being the usual apathetic singaporean (Well trained mah), I truly have not much concerns. But really, if NUS is to do away with their administrative fees.... I would be happy! Less loans to worry about. But if the school wireless networks and buses goes together with the admin fees.... I would rather pay for it. Who would want to walk from soc to arts rite? Not to even mention the new campus in town.... Siao......

Anyway, so there they are protesting about this VSU thingy. And the speakers were really liberal about their comments. One of them said "First its the single mum union, next is the queer society... blah blah blah... when will they stop their attack on any organisations with the word union?", another said "...and Howard's days are numbered!" Everyone cheered after that heh. Try doing that in the middle of Orchard Road with our Prime Minister instead.... heh

Anyway there they go off marching on the streets shouting we want no VSU! ... Something something Fuck off... we want want no VSU! heh. Interesting right... I took some pictures of it and a video but sadly the video has no sound... haiz.. else its gonna be really nice. :) not going to post this video. if u wanna see ask from me and i send to you guys ok? seeya cheers!

Movies

The movies here are generally cheaper than in Singapore... If u watch on a weekday! ... yeah.... we tot it was supposed to be cheaper so we went to catch the movie on a weekend at regent .... It was 10 freaking bucks man!

haha. Anyway ... no one checked our tix when we went into the cinema... funny eh... haha. Dunno buy tix for wat.... and the air con is not on.. prob its bcos its winter... tts why they switched it off to save electricity. We saw one giant fan in front of the cinema though :)

A very different experience altogether cos the cinema only had less than 10 people inside. And the theatre is huge... like the big theatres in lido... but only 10 ppl inside... haha

Anyway... it was an experience. :) Just like everything else. Decided to post some pics we took outside the cinema. Oh and also have to post the sunglasses that i bought. Heh requested by boo... costs 140 bucks siah lol so die die must post hahah

Horse Riding :)

Went to Nerang for horse riding :) Took the train there and it took about one and a half hour to reach.
Quite sianz on the trip there cos it was early in the morning and everyone's listening to their mp3 and wat nots except for me heh.

Anyway reached there ... and my horse's name is Ruffus. He looks really really nice. Healthy shiny coat. cool! But I felt quite sorry for Ruffus cos I think he's kinda small for me?? I dunno but I felt that hes struggling with me on the back ... haiz... poor thing right. The guide there told us the horses go for a one week trail non stop.... which means they go for the trail in the morning and another one in the afternoon and they rest in the evening till the next day. Then the same routine goes on again for a week.... And they will get one week rest after that.

Shiong rite! If i'm them I will die man... And we went there on Sunday... so its the last day for them. Guess thats why they felt abit lethargic... (however u spelt that heh)

Anyway we troded along quite a few times and its really fun man! Haha very very fun... the feeling is just GOOD! haha And the scenery is beautiful cos we were in the middle of the mountains... and its just beautiful.... Its amazing how beautiful nature is. Ahhhhh.... shiok lol

Should go when you guys come to brisbane... But request for a bigger horse... else its gonna be very taxing for the horses.

Gold Coast and Harbour Town

Went to gold coast and harbour town on sunday. ;)

The beach is just beautiful. The color is reallly nice. heh. Din spend any money on transport cos henry drove us there :)

So we went to surfer's paradise and we saw alot of kids learning surfing. :) cool rite. We will be going for the surf lessons on one of the weekends as well. :)

Went to walk around the place ... and had lunch at this place called seafood mania. Ahd fish and chips and that costs 10 bucks :) quite ex hor.. but ok lah its a huge serving heh

After that we went to harbour town. Its a huge place where they sell really cheap stuffs... factory outlets they call it. They have ripcurl levis polo ralph nike fila etc etc. Bought a pair of ripcurl slippers :) Din buy any other stuffs though they are cheap .. heh cos no money lah
